Song Seung-Yong’s work allows everyone to create their very own installation at home. A chair like Object-B is not necessarily a chair, but it can also serve as a ladder or a bookshelf. The rockingchair Object-E can be transformed into a drying rack without further ado and Object-O creates a private space with an oversized lampshade and light. For the in Soul working artist an designer ‘this is not a study of shape and function system, but a process of study which can draw out the communication between objects and human beings’. He manages to reinterpret and to extend the meaning of a chair without deniying the identity based on the stereotype.
