Pop! by Irby Pace

Irby Pace is a Dallas based photographer who creates his art pieces by reverse engineering everyday common objects and devices. In his latest series he borrowed the view of the traditional landscape and changed it with the use of photography. The skies and landscapes in the series ‘Pop!’ are painted with clouds of colored smoke,

which are released from canisters, levitated into the physical space from which they are photographed. ‘It is through this process that I am making something that I find simply beautiful’ he explains. His creativity is driven from his childhood where he would take things apart, then he would figure out how they worked and put them back together or found other possibilities for the devices. He sees the artistic possibilities in all of the things around him and he uses this to his advantage.
