Our Insta Fav of the week is Anna Salvador, a graphic designer from Spain, who creates beautiful images of her surroundings and the sun-drenched views on her hometown Barcelona. Her images make us feel warm all over and our Wanderlust is bubbling over once more. Anna Salvador herself feels inspired by other cultures and ways of living as well but we don’t want to tell to much, as you can read it yourself in the following interview. Enjoy.
Where are you from? How does that place influence the way you photograph?
I’m Anna Salvador, a graphic designer born and raised in Barcelona.
I’ve always lived here so I think I’m more influenced by the idea of living anywhere else (I love my city though). Wondering and being curious about other ways of thinking, cultures and places make me think and imagine a lot, so I guess it all begins here.
What are your favorite environments to shoot in?
If I shoot indoors, a table, a texture or a color background. If I’m outside I enjoy shooting places that I’ve never been on before (then everything it’s valid). But there’s always something in common: simplicity.
What are the strengths of shooting primarily mobile? How does this affect your imagery?
Definitely, the immediacy and the ease to shoot and edit just in a few simple steps. In a certain way, I find it positive and useful for the daily basis, but on the other hand it has made me appreciate more the simple fact of taking pictures in the traditional way and to take time to it.
Who and what are the things that inspire you?
People, their gestures, their way to express, movies, colors, empty streets at night (and walk by them while I’m listening music), random conversations, travels, foreign grocery stores, the sea and of course, my grandmother’s village.
Tell us a little about your everyday.
Mornings are equal to university. Afternoons are full of work, or friends, some culinary failed attempts, family and dreams about travel to Iceland (or anywhere). And at night, I run.
