Casa Modesta is a retreat that combines contemporary design with traditional architecture in the Portuguese countryside.
More specifically, the house is nestled into the rural area of Ria Formosa National Park in the Algarve. According to the owners, the architecture of the structure was inspired by the local culture and features a clean limestone exterior and terracotta flooring with a contemporary twist.
In a statement about the project, the owners say: “In the Casa Cha, we translated ancestral legacies to a contemporary language, creating and feeding social and economical dynamics connected to local arts and crafts.”
