The philosophy of Copenhagen-based Studio Pneuma, founded by Diana Lindboe and Camilla Boccardi Christensen, is rooted in creating objects and fragrances that heighten our senses and intensify our spatial experience.
Their new fragrances and heavy stone objects aim to stimulate our sense of smell. The stones act as physical anchors for the ‘Pneuma Spatial Fragrances’, which absorb and diffuse drops of the user’s chosen fragrance. “The heavy and curvy objects are a visual and tactile reminder to sense and feel a nourishing smell ritual,” the studio says. You place the object in a heated area and apply it with a Pneuma spatial fragrance. The warmth adds movement to the evaporation of the fragrance, which “leads to pleasure and beautiful expression.” Founded in 2019, Studio Pneuma’s owners have backgrounds in architecture, design, and information science, which informs their belief that good design creates emotional bonds between subject and object.
