Based in Cincinnati, artist and designer Shailah Maynard found her affinity for art at an early age during high school where she learned the importance of artistic craftwork and its impact on young adults. After graduating at high school, Shailah completed her studies in Fine Arts at Simmons College in Boston. As an active hobbyist, Shailah was always looking for new ways to express herself creatively, starting to focus mainly on textile design. In 2015, she founded the conceptual fashion brand ‘Working Girls‘, specialised in tongue-in-cheek accessories and clothing items with a feminist and satirical notion. Shailah’s latest artworks include the ‘Pool Room’, a site-specific installation series of ten, created in conjunction with products of Working Girls. The installation was part of our ‘All Inclusive’ exhibition in Berlin.
