The ‘Origo’ collection by the Mexican Studio David Pompa is a series of minimal lighting solutions, including a lowly-hung pendant light, a wall-mounted light, and the newly introduced floor and table lights.

The collection’s simple, geometric forms are comprised of textured spheres carved from volcanic rock, which are contrasted against smooth, illuminated opal glass bulbs. “Both materials create a relationship between light and composition,” says the studio. “The spheres work as a double geometry—mirroring positive and negative,” they continue, “which reinforces the fundamental relationship between light and shadow.” The pendant light has two stacked spheres suspended by a long, black wire. For the table lamp, the light bulb balances on a larger sized semicircle of rock. All designs are dimmable at the preference of the user, “spreading a warm environmental light that highlights the texture and character of the volcanic rock.” The new floor and table lights will be presented during Design Week Mexico on the 5th and 6th of October 2019.
