Marble damaged during production is often deemed unusable, and with low saleable value finds itself abandoned as industrial waste. Seoul-based designers Fict Studio are determined to change this.

Utilizing marble fragments that would otherwise be discarded, Fict Studio has crafted a selection of furniture pieces using crystal resin to highlight the beauty of their materials. By encasing the rough edges of the marble within the angular confines of peach stained clear blocks, they have made the “damage” a graphic focal point. The ‘Fragment Series’ collection consists of a stool, a side table, and a seat, and is Fict Studio’s second project utilizing marble fragments, you can find their first here.
