Vacuum and Perfume by Nádia Maria
- Esther Jablotschkin
Nádia Maria’s series ‘Vacuum’ was inspired by the melancholy, the emptiness, the constant deconstruction and reconstruction of ourselves. Another series entitled ‘Perfume’ visualizes her experience suffering of baby blues after the birth of her first son. ‘It was a phase of deconstruction and transformation.’ These two series represent her feelings as a woman and a soul in view of her experience of giving birth – in Brazil one calls it ‘giving the light’. ‘It’s all about experiments, games and involvement with the camera, with the image, the feelings, with ourselves’, she explains.
