Alex Crétey Systermans is an artist based in Paris. After experimenting for many years with painting, drawing and installations, Alex Crétey Systermans returned to photography, and has produced a body of work that interrogates the spaces traditionally used in painting.

Photography, for him, is a means of getting out of the studio and immersing himself in the world. His poetic and documentary style evokes questions about the places and you might wonder what happened here, feeling somehow like being left alone on an island.
