“Abriss” By Marco Land

“My project Abriss (German for ‘ticket stub’ or ‘ripped’) is a year-less calendar composed of collected ticket stubs that have been enlarged and warped with a photocopier to form new typographic compositions. The idea was to make a calendar without using the computer, and to begin I collected tickets over the course of three years that exhibited at least a day and a month. The year didn’t matter, as I wanted the finished product to be a book that could be a permanent installation rather than a throwaway calendar. I enlarged every ticket in different sizes with the photocopier and searched for striking new compositions. In the end I printed the best results in A5 and compiled them into the final book and published it myself.”
