Located in Alentejo, a south-central part of Portugal, the house built by Aires Mateus represents the simple architecture that fits perfectly in its surrounding, becoming a perfect shelter.
Aires Mateus is an architecture practice based in Lisbon, Portugal and led by two brothers, Manuel and Francisco. Upholding the strong tradition of Portuguese architecture, they architects have a deep feeling of the contemporary style and worked on several acknowledged projects. Although the House in Litoral Alentejano was built in 2000, it still charms with its simplicity and is an example of pure concept that resulted in minimal design and plain aesthetics.
