Words

UAE-born Central St Martins graduate Khalid Al Qasimi debuted his eponymous menswear label in 2009 during Paris Fashion Week. Seven years on, QASIMI‘s SS16 collection, entitled ‘False Flags’, epitomizes the brand’s DNA with a minimal take military aesthetics, inspired by traditional Middle Eastern dress. Featuring longer lined shirts layered with sleek outerwear – bombers, parkas and car coats in poplin and voile cottons – the palette remains muted and harmonious. QASIMI’s identity is further reflected in “the finishing’s of each garment, [which] centers in on the core aspects of military costume and architectural shapes.”
