Crayola Theory

Words

With names as ‘Pink Flamingo’, ‘Banana Mania’ or ‘Screamin’ Green’ Crayola crayons have always been known for their fun names and colors. Daniel Seung Lee in collaboration with art director, Dawn Kim, has created the ‘Crayola Theory’.

A visual translation of Crayola’s crayon titles using the physical objects and official hex color codes. In a very chic, yet simple way the everyday objects are placed in front of plain bright-colored backgrounds. The minimalistic simplicity radiated by the images takes us back into a child’s world and unveiling us to a naivety-loaded view of things. These aesthetically engaging images and the minimalistic approach make this part of work very powerful, and fun to look at.
