Fideli Sundqvist is a young lady from Stockholm, Sweden who is building up stories, which she illustrates with three-dimensional paper creations. In ‘Smaklöst’ she did a new interpretation of the classic still life. Still life usually depicts natural and manmade objects, but in her pictures the natural objects have been replaced with folded paper. The pieces are almost weightless and lack the qualities that the original has, taste, smell, nourishment and so on. She wants the eye to stop for a second and recognize that something is different but at the same time she wants the pictures to be as timeless and beautiful as the 16th century paintings which have inspired her for this work.
