Jorge Garaje redefines graphic motifs on porcelain decoration. Faust is a coffee set of striking anti-conformism. It reuses tattoo transfers as different motifs contrary to the traditional crockeries. It claims the aesthetic value of this anonymous design, culturally devaluated, rethinking their status outside the context of the human body. The same as the character of the legend Faust, who sold his own soul to maintain a memorable and excessed presence through the terrestrial existence that still maintains its memory after death. Formal in the form and informal in content, this experimental project shows the result of “change the typical flower and bucolic motifs on classic porcelain sets”.
