Don’t Teach The Birds To Fly

The series of photos Don’t Teach The Birds To Fly depicts holidays in a countryside, in a small villages of Orava, a Northern region of Slovak Republic. Photographs represent idyllic nature and children spending their freetime without using modern technologies. It is a throwback to my own juvenility. Referring to my melancholy personality, I noticed, that the portraits of children have a slightly gloomy character and often show these precious little creatures in situations of a little misery, confusion or acrimony. This kind of moments constitute an integral part of every person, no matter how small. Capturing such a moments came purely unconsciously as it is probably related to my heavy-hearted personality. My pictures don’t use any digital manipulation. I shot these photographs with Nikon FM2 camera and 50mm Nikkor 1.8 lens.
