RIMOWA has joined forces with photographers across the globe for their ‘New Horizons’ campaign; a collection of dreamy images from eight talented photographers that reflect on the destinations of past travels. Photographer Austin Leis has shared his own visually rich selection with us; taken across sun-drenched Spain, his captivating work transports us beyond our current location, to dream of the places we’ll someday go.
For now, we’ve been asked to pause. Travel has always been about exploring, discovering, and learning, yet at the present moment, it’s an act that is on hold. While we recoup and recalibrate, it’s a nice time to reflect with gratitude on the things we have achieved, the people we have met, and the places we have visited. This is the concept behind RIMOWA’s pensive campaign, ‘New Horizons’. In Leis’s work, architectural landmarks, interior design, landscapes, and travel combine to form an ethereal series that highlights the interaction between space, color, light, and shadow. Leis is fascinated with the interplay of nature and urban structures. Of the series, he has explained in an interview: “These photos are that for me; a solidifying feeling and assurance for my love of design and photography.” You can find more New Horizons travel stories here.
