Brazilian Estudio Rain has designed a series of table lamps, entitled ‘Orbe’, made from brass and aluminum; the indirect diffusion of light from the lamps creates a pleasant atmosphere for the home.

The lamps are simple in their composition. A disk shape, available in a variety of colorways, houses the light source, while two rectangular supporting bases are lined vertically either side of the spherical light—“providing stability to the piece and completing its silhouette,” the studio tells us. “The lamp is designed to provide soft illumination to the environment”, existing as a statement piece for the home. Its name alludes to its shape; the geometry of the circular reflector sets up “a kind of aura. It can resemble either a classic piece full of symbolism, or a technological instrument with a futuristic character”. The studio was founded by Mariana Ramos and Ricardo Innecco, who backgrounds are in product design and architecture, creating sculpted and geometric coffee and side tables, lamps, curved benches, and armchairs, with a focus on soft lines and curves.
