Words

The house of sculptor Pedro Reyes and his wife, fashion designer Carla Fernández is a unique space dominated with concrete, where the pair lives, works and creates.

Located in the Mexico City, the house features an enormous double-height library in a living room. The building, called ‘The Reyes House’, is filled with furniture and pieces made by the couple as well the classic modern designers, including the black Eames Lounge chair. Reyes, a renowned Mexican artist, had been first trained as an architect before turning into contemporary art, and thus designed the house himself. The building takes its design from Mexico City’s modernist and brutalist buildings, such as the works of Luis Barragán.
