The Abstract World Of Takashi Murakami

A recently opened exhibition organized by Galerie Perrotin, Paris, ‘Learning The Magic Of Painting‘ gathers more than 40 recent works of the Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.

Murakami, sometimes called the “Japanese Warhol”, works in fine arts media, such as painting and sculpture, as well as in commercial media, including fashion and animation. The exhibition, spanning across three spaces in Paris, includes four major groups of the artist’s works. Apart from seeing a selection of Murakami’s famous works, the viewers will also have a chance to see an entirely new series of diptychs and triptychs inspired by Francis Bacon. Despite being one of the most acclaimed Japanese contemporary artists, Murakami modestly says: “Ever since I started studying painting at nineteen to this day, at fifty-four, I have been, and still am, in the middle of learning the magic of painting.”
