HKL Studio Created A Clinic That Feels Like Home
- Jessica Jungbauer
HKL Studio created a clinic that looks like a house, so that it feels more like home for the patients. The Asachico Clinic is situated in Chiba, Japan, about 30 miles outside of Tokyo. Made of concrete, the outside of the architecture resembles a house with its signature triangular arches. The medical center especially houses elderly people who have their rooms on the ground floor of the two-story building. Hikalu Tanabe, the architect behind HKL Studio, says: “To give a more familiar image of the building to the visitors we chose a typical house-shape as facade”.
