”Quadrat’ (Square) is a graphical and usable object. When we look around in our rooms, we notice that quite a few things are square. That inspired me to twist the usual form, as well as a regular hexahedron or pentagon and create an everyday object. In order to produce to a graphical image, it is wrapped with colored rubber parts in various ways.’
The South Korean born designer, Dahm Lee, lives in Germany since 2008 and has studied design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg. Based on the ‘Quadrat’, she examines how people are inspired by the shape of the object and how they interact with the object in terms of form and function.
