Is It Mine If I Add Some Yellow?

Collage artists are often confronted with questions of copyright and ownership. Can I take and use this image? If I do, when will cease to be someone else’s and become my own? Does such a line even exist? This project deals directly with these questions, employing a common theme –the colour yellow– to alter, and thereby claim, art. The idea was popular among the collage artists of Instagram and was consequently turned into a collaborative project that can be viewed at www.instagram.com/addyellow
