Wandler’s Debut Bag Collection Inspired By Abstract Modernist Art

Words

For their debut collection, luxury accessories brand Wandler presents a collection of bags inspired by abstract modernist art. A former student of Amsterdam School of Design, the label’s founder Elza Wandler shifted her focus from designing clothes to accessories after finding inspiration in the sculptural possibilities. The five leather silhouettes have been captured in a lookbook by Milan-based photographer Leonardo Scotti, which situates the collection alongside vivid colours and natural forms. Crafted in Italy, the bags are made of luxury leather and can be celebrated for their iconic simplicity. The designer explains, “My vision for Wandler is that I’m always searching for a balance between the hyper-feminine and androgynous in my design philosophy. Our bags should have this ‘wow effect’ when you carry them, yet they shouldn’t be screaming for your attention.”
