Living and working in Vancouver, photographer Zahid Jiwa meditates on modern life by taking images that create a peaceful atmosphere.
By pointing his lens at the small details around him, the photographer captures the fleeting moments of everyday life. According to Jiwa, he is inspired by street photographers and pre-Enlightenment European classicist conventions alike.
A statement about Jiwa’s work reads: “Captured in his surrounding environs within the last year, the images presented speak for themselves as a series of photographs characterized by an uninhibited but at the same time fleeting glance inherent to the restless modern man, stylized by the possibility of quiet reflection amid the busy doings of modern, dynamic life.”
