An Experimental Approach To Scarves By Nadine Goepfert
- Jessica Jungbauer
For her latest collection ‘Breaks In Continuity’, Berlin-based textile designer Nadine Goepfert created a series of geometrically-designed scarves that question how we usually wear them. According to the designer, unlike a jacket or a pair of jeans, there isn’t a specific way to put on a scarf. Instead, its open form enables the wearer to play with various styles, as explored through Goepfert’s designs.
In a statement about the collection, the designer says: “Based on the simplicity of its form, the scarf itself makes the wearer develop specific habits, sometimes indicating social conventions. It makes us speculate about the personality of the wearer, maybe more than any other garment.”
