A Complex Interconnected Home By Yuusuke Karasawa

Words

Located near Omiya, Japan, ‘S House’ is a sleek steel and glass home comprised of a mind-bending network of levels. Designed by Japanese architects Yuusuke Karasawa, the structure appears simple on the outside, but actually consists of a complex system of staircases, split-levels and angled walls inside that alter the resident’s relationship to space. In a statement about the project, the architects say: “The commonly understood three dimensional depth and the sense of distance are being disturbed, creating architectural spaces where various distances become complicated, much like what is happening in infospheres like the Internet.”
