“Criadas” is a project that combines elements of documentary and pictorialist aesthetics, visually narrating a melancholy history, culture and identity of “maids” who have worked for a family generation. For pleasure and devotion, they raise a child -that’s not yours- until their maturity age. They combine urban elements and traditions with their rural lifes. In each of these images, the place is complemented by the person forming a single picture. In the image there are very representative elements of the region as the Catholic religion, which is very important in the department, or combination of elements of popular culture with vivid colors and different lighting to try to preserve the atmosphere of the place from a non-city life; most of them, theatrical images.
