Bea Fremdermann Lets Nature Take Back The New World

The New York based artist Bea Fremdermann and Born Nude invite us into a world where jeans and sweaters are overgrown by chia seeds, cut fruits (once) sewed back together, and walls built from newspapers and dirt, grow green full of cherry radishes. Her work titled Solastalgia – a portmanteau of the words “solace” and “nostalgia” – explores the versatility of materials and what would happen after we are gone. In Solastalgia, the artist creates an “post apocalyptic setting” to remind of us the impending threat of climate change and how “nature prevails against all odds”.
