Domestication Of A Pyramid By Magdalena Jetelová
- Carolin Maras
Czech artist Magdalena Jetelová created the installation ‘Domestication of a Pyramid’ as a visual metaphor referring to the the Western mentality of taking important parts of our history and placing them inside museums. For the piece, the artist installed large fragments of a pyramid into gallery buildings evoking a feeling of oppositional harmony between forms, shapes and cultures. It seems as if the pyramid has been lifted directly from Egypt and accidentally dropped into the museum.
