Berlin-based artist Olafur Eliasson literally brought the outdoors inside by filling Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark with stones and soil that resemble a ‘Riverbed’, which is also the name of the exhibition.
+ Read MoreOlafur wanted the visitor to not just be immersed in the authenticity of the installation and the artwork, but also to experience the contrasting difference of the exhibition and true nature. Thus the progress of the visitor through the museum becomes a central issue and the transitions between inside and outside, culture and staged nature, become fluid and transitory. Eliasson’s exhibition is an enhancement of our gaze at the museum, at ourselves and at the world.
