Norm Architects is a design team consisting of Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen and Kasper Rønn based in Platanvej, Copenhagen. In 2009 they designed the interior of ‘Copenhagen Penthouse II’, an apartment with a stunning panoramic view over the second largest city of Denmark.

The client’s dream was a completely minimalistic space with plenty of light, on the top of town. To achieve this, they tore down a substantial part of the concrete walls and cut all doors, in order to create an open plan and increase the feeling of height. To intensify the impression of one open space, a white resin floor was cast to connect all the rooms. An important part of the project was to minimize details such as paneling, door knobs, and fittings, and create a monastic, simple atmosphere for mental relaxation after a hard day at the office. Additionally, the penthouse works as a neutral backdrop for the sculptural furniture.
