Hayley Eichenbaum’s Tribute To The Open Roads Of The USA

Scroll

Milwaukee-based photographer Hayley Eichenbaum has become celebrated for her ongoing studies of the North American road, which she captures in clean, cinematic pastel-toned shots.

An interdisciplinary artist by training, Eichenbaum moved to Los Angeles after completing her studies at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, which she was drawn to after arriving in the city at the end of her first road trip. She has since completed the famed Route 66 eight times, and captured a wide range of landscapes, both natural and manmade, along the way. Speaking of what prompts her to take stop and capture a scene, the photographer explained in a recent interview, “The first thing I’m attracted to is color, and secondly, architectural geometry. I just may be the worst person to drive with (hence the solo road trips). I’m constantly pulling over to capture an image…Weather (sky-scape) has always played an important role in my compositions.” Follow Eichenbaum’s Instagram to keep up with where she’s headed next.
