Doze by Florian Hildebrandt

The relationship between presence and absence was the motivation for the series ‘Doze’ by Florian Hildebrandt. He graduated in 2012 with a master thesis about ‘the absence’ in Visual Communication at Bauhaus- University Weimar. Currently he is working and living in Hamburg/Germany as artist and freelance photographer. In his latest work ‘Doze’ he documents his own appearance everytime he woke up in the morning at 3 o’clock during one week. The resulting grooves in the form of wrinkles, redness or ear plugs are fleeting references to the qualities of the night. The result illustrates an exceptional way of self documentary worth to appreciate.
