Peripher By Melanie Glöckler

“Dezentralized light is the main idea of Peripher. It changes the way of lighting as it has been before. Compared to a conventional lightbulb it doesn’t shine from the inside out. It uses the technical progress of LED’s to hide the lightsource and keep the focus on the illuminated glassvolume itself. The shape of the glass reminds of a pill. Laterally it is surrounded by a groove. This groove has two functions. It is responsible for the leather stripe suspension, and it hides the LED stripes while maintaining distance from the glass. The project developed from a collaboration with the gaffer Peter Kuchinke.”
