Bodyscapes

Words

London-based photographer Carl Warner creates landscapes that are nothing like a conventional landscape. At first sight you might think so, but after you had a better look at the images, you’ll realize that the landscapes are created from the human form.

He shoots the forms in his studio and later on pieces them together with Photoshop, creating ‘Bodyscapes’ – a kind of alternative portraits of human beings. Their bodies become a landscape of themselves, and by this Carl Warner manages to create a whole new external view of ourselves, and our relationship towards our own bodies – ‘an intimate reflection of our inner being when viewed as a landscape or given a sense of place.’
