House 2

Words

Spanish architect Carlos Ferrater and his team from Studio OAB designed this family house located in The Ebro Delta, Spain. Placed at the end of a 250m long and 18m wide plot at the sea, 60 washingtonia palm and lemon trees will guide you to the end to finally reach the house.

Built on a platform raised 70 cm above the floodable natural terrain, three small volumes, of irregular shape in plan and section, strike up a dialogue across an empty space with long sightlines. The volumetric decomposition responds to the landscape and constructional conditions, whereas the fragmented play of volumes reminds one of Picasso’s cubist composition.
